My fascination with pedigrees began at the young age of 14. My parents raised American Cocker Spaniels. Our first female was registered but didn't have quality or substance. I obtained books from the library and began researching different show lines. We also attended dog shows. In doing this research, we purchased several dogs that had the looks and qualities we were looking for; I even had to sell my English riding saddle and childhood piano for one particular dog!
There was no internet in those days. Today, things are much more convenient with having a world wide library in a few clicks of the mouse. With the advent of copy and paste, ideas and thoughts can be conveyed and shared quickly.
In sharing this information I have included several links that show either a picture of the buck or doe, and/or their ancestors. I strive to thoroughly research. It's crucial to give credit to those breeders and their websites. I may not know YOU personally, but I appreciate each person responsible for caring about the breed and thank YOU for sharing the information that can be collected for future breeders.
The goats listed here are for reference: through the breeder's hard work and dedication, either directly or indirectly they are instrumental in producing the end result that can be enjoyed. A goat that can be used in your breeding program; in the show ring; as a pet, or on your own homestead and in the milk pail.
